Warehousing & Storage

In addition to our installation services, Delta also provides storage and inventory management services for client’s excess furniture in our 165,000 square foot warehouse facility located in Hanover, Maryland near BWI airport. Our administrative staff, project management team, and warehouse management staff are in the same location. Our large facility allows us to provide temporary or permanent furniture storage and staging areas for our clients. We receive direct shipments daily from the manufacturers on behalf of our dealers and end users.

Receiving and Delivery

All shipments received at the Delta warehouse storage facility are inspected for exterior damage and can be thoroughly inspected for concealed damage as directed by the dealer and/or our end-user clients. Full inspections of product are pre-arranged with our clients based on their requirements. Each inbound shipment is checked for discrepancies and any items noted as deficient are reported on the delivery paperwork controlled by the carrier’s driver. Any questionable items of receipt can be refused or coordinated with the dealerships for further handling. Furniture deliveries from multiple manufacturers are staged in our short term warehouse area until the scheduled installation date. We use our own fleet of cargo vans, 16′ trucks, 24′ trucks, and trailers to make the final delivery to the customer’s location.

Storage and Management

Most companies do not have the excess space or personnel to move, store, and manage an inventory of office furniture parts and pieces. Whether it’s for the short term while you remodel an office or for the long term storage and management of your entire furniture inventory, Delta has the space, equipment, personnel, and systems to manage the process. When your excess furniture arrives at our warehouse, we first perform a complete inventory. Qualified Delta technicians will sort, identify and log each item. A photographic inventory can also be created if requested. All product is palletized, shrink wrapped and racked for storage purposes.

Active storage inventories are also maintained for long-term projects. Our project managers maintain continuous computer tracking of all pulls & returns performed by our trained warehouse personnel. Items from your inventory account can quickly be pulled, shipped, and installed at your site by Delta field technicians. Larger clients use our facility for long term storage of their complete excess furniture inventory. As they move and/or reconfigure their offices and personnel, they can draw on their own product. The Delta Project Manager (with the assigned Project Coordinator) coordinates all activity with the product movement and storage.
